I am trying to instal Ubuntu server edition and am having troubles getting it to boot in the computer i want i to.

I am using the ubuntu server edition iso i just downloaded today. I have tried it in my Mac (hold c to boot from cd drive etc...) and it boots fine..there i even tested the disc to make sure it didn't contain any errors.

When i throw it into the computer i want to instal it on it does not boot up. I just get a "press h to restart" message

Another thing that should be known is that if i throw a windows xp instal disc in the cd drive it boots just fine. I have tried setting several different boot options but for some reason it doesnt like ubuntu.

If anyone could help me out at all it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

ps. I am fairly new to ubuntu so please, go easy on me.
