Hi, since this is my first time changing the motherboard i need alittle help on matching the requirments.

Computer: Gateway GT5448E 32bit with Msi N9500gt 1gb DDR2

New motherboard:
Asus P5Q Standard IP45/S775/PCI-E2.0/SATA2/ATX Motherboard

Hmm have you hooked this mobo to your gateway machine? If so, what happened? From the specs it looks like a very good board, however I was wondering are the processor classes the same or no? Also are you trying to do a clean install of Ubuntu onto your new board or what? Could you give a bit more about your particular plans for the board if you don't mind?

Well the graphic card was changed by me it was gt6800 b4
The processors seem to match becouse mine is dual core 1.86gz and there is one much similar,
if it works i was thinking of installing a clean verison of ubuntu 9.10

Note: im thinking of buying it i didn't get it yet
