View Full Version : [ubuntu] Menu Checkbox/Radial Background

Since upgrading to 10.04, any checkboxes or radials in my menus (File, Edit, etc.) are now really hard to read. They are now white in color and no longer show a "brown" background, blending right into the rest of the gray menu. I've attached a screenshot for clarification.

Is there any way to make these things easier to see when they've been selected? How can I change the colors? I've tried to search the forum and google but to no avail.

Thx for your replies.

Yeah, this is annoying me as well. Found this bug report (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/human-theme/+bug/553393) for it...hopefully something will be done soon, even if it's just to make the check the same colour as the text used in the menu.

Has anyone heard any more about this issue? Not a lot has happened in the bug report, but I'm not really sure how these things work or how long they can take.

no ideas. i just created a custom theme to do a quick fix of the problem. hopefully they figure something out before the next release.

Thanks kid1000002000 - I never thought about a custom theme ...never used that before. I picked 'Human-Clearlooks' and changed the 'Selected Items' in the 'Colours' tab to something less orange.

Still not as nice as the default Human theme, but it'll do for now.

New Wave theme is nice & doesn't have this problem - but the Open Office menu bar is then too dark - arrgh!
