Problem with time after upgrade to Lucid Lynx

I have a minor, but annoying problem after upgrading my system to Ubuntu 10.04. The clock display on my desktop is not displaying the correct time. The system itself is keeping the correct time, which can be seen when the Time and Date app is maximized. But when it is minimized it only shows the time at bootup and it never changes. See attached .png.
Has anyone else encountered this problem or have a suggestion? Thanks

also something to keep in mind is that your rtc battery might be dieing

Problem solved. After trying System>admin>time&date several times I got a message that said I was not synced to a time server. I did that and rebooted still no love. I gave up and shut down, next time I booted up it worked. Go figure! Thanks for the suggestions.
