app window disapears after a sec after upgrade

Hello,
Just upgraded my eepc from 9.10 to 10.04.
The pc boots ok and the new menu appears, but i cannot load any application, it pops up for about a second and then goes back to the menu. The icons of the started apps are in the left corner of the menu. If I click on one of them, same story, it shows for less then a second and whoops the menu returns.
any ideas ?

I found the solution to my problem. The upgrade to 10.04 installed nvdia drivers which were of no use for my netbook. I removed all nvidia drivers and it seems to work normal for now.
Hopefully this info will be of use to others.
