copying an installed ubuntu to another partition

Hi.All.
I have installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on partition (sda6) and I want to reinstall Ubuntu also (sda7). If I copy all the files in sda6 to sda7, does it work?
If not, can you advice an easy way?

no, it will not boot or worse your computer will not boot. easy way would be to just create a free space on your disk and do a fresh install. the live cd will auto load to the free space. if you want to copy your packages over...
