Hi guys,
I've just installed LTS 10.04 but, after installing the proprietary ATI drivers I can't access the system at all, it just hangs after loading saying the monitor is out of scan range. This may be because I've broken a pin off my monitor's gfx board socket that enabled the monitor to be recognized by the OS. I remember than in Windows I had to install the drivers from Sony myself in order to get it recognized while it should show automatically on the hardware screen.
I reckon the drivers are trying to set my screen to a higher resolution or refresh rate that the ones it allows and that's returning the error.
Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
Please keep in mind that I'm a total linux noob : )
