Hello,
I have a server now running the 10.04 version of Ubuntu. It has a 32 bit kernel, however server hardware itself is 64 bit - so I wanted to "upgrade" to a 64 operating system. Can that be easily done?
: Actually I am not 100% certain about the hardware either, this is what I get from /proc/cpuinfo:
flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe nx lm constant_tsc

cache_alignment : 64
address sizes : 36 bits physical, 48 bits virtual
Have read on the net that the 'lm' under flags indicates 64 bit hardware? [I do not have physical access to the server in question, not even details about make.]
Any tips?
