I have Ubuntu 10.04 on my netbook and love it. I want to install it to run full time on my desktop, but if I reformat my harddrive and install Ubuntu or Kubuntu will I be able to reinstall and run windows 7 from a dvd if I change my mind? Will a windows disk reinstall all the bootloaders, etc.?

I want to make the switch, but I want to be able to go back to windows if I can't do everything I want to with my ipad.

Any suggestions?

Sure, as long as you have a Windows disk you can reinstall it anytime you would like. You could also leave it on there and dual boot.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if reformatting my harddrive would make it impossible to load windows again. very much appreciated.
