Hi,
I've upgraded to 10.4 earlier today from 9.10, and I get very bad sound...
When I play music (I use audacious) the sounds are not as sharp as they used to be on 9.10 and it just sounds really bad...

Any ideas?

I've had the same problem since the last version. I was hoping for a fix in Lucid.

I find that you get a little less buzzing if you switch to analog 5.1 mode - but the overall sound quality still sucks.

I've tried it with Klipsch and Bose speakers and my Harmon Kardon home theater... so I know my speakers aren't dying.

It happens in Rythmbox (which I refuse to use), Banshee (which is easier to use but still inelegant), and Songbird (which is not exactly very well-integrated... but much more elegant).

I hope they fix it soon! We shouldn't have to install a whole new sound processor (I don't know the terminology) just to get reasonable sound.

5.1 makes it worse since i have stereo and no surround speakers :\

any other ideas other than wait for a fix?
