View Full Version : How to fix “resolving proxy” delay in google chrome on Windows?

Though we are all Ubuntu fans, most of us use to work on Windows workstations at office. So this tips is for people who work on Windows and using google chrome browser.

Corporate networks has internet proxy with username and password to access internet from their workstation. Most of the time browsers in corporate network (what else? IE only!) are configured to detect the proxy settings automatically to make it simple for IT service guys. But this results into noticeable delay in connecting to the web site. This can be set right with manual proxy configuration. It is applicable for all browsers. Google chrome displays this message nicely at the bottom of the screen as “Resolving proxy…”. We can eliminate this with the following configuration to make it fast to surf the net.
