I upgraded 9.10 to 10.04 UNR on a Dell Mini 9 yesterday. The upgrade appeared to have gone correctly but I can no longer access UNR.
The machine is set up as dual boot with Windows XP. I do not install Grub to the MBR but use a Windows bootloader to hand off to Grub installed on the UNR partition. (I don't like having Grub over write the MBR as it has left me with inoperable machines in the past because I could not recover the Windows MBR). This worked perfectly in 9.10 and the hand-off to Grub still appears to be working as the final thing is a black screen with GRUB and a blinking cursor on it which is non-responsive.
I will try to create a Live CD of UNR 10.04 on a USB stick to see if I can access the hard disk installation to see if I can correct Grub but I am a novice when it comes to Grub 2.
Any help in correcting the installation, without performing a reinstall, would be appreciated.
