initramfs-tools, my new lucid wont update

Hello,

I just updated my Karmic koala to Lucid Lynx on a:

HP laptop
2GHZ AMD
3G RAM
Nvidia Geforce Go 7150M

during installation it failed to update initramfs-tools and I am unable to do any upgrades.

Now my pc is running on low graphics mode, with 0 updates, and strange behavior on my AWN panel.

error message I receive upon updates:

E: initramfs-tools: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

read many treads and couldn't clarify the issue.

Anyone have a more less structural solution, or a workaround?
