I know the procedure to dual boot ubuntu with windows. But I am still unaware of how to install Ubuntu LInux on a system without any O.S., means dedicating the entire HDD to the Ubuntu OS itself. Please help me with the partitioning scheme. Means how to partition the disk. I have 160 GB HDD. SO please help me.

I would be inclined to let Ubuntu decide, but the following information from the installation guide might help you:

well if it has no os on the computer, you could get a ubuntu live cd and install if from there, during the installation it will give you the options of setting partitons before it installs it.
