Cant run Planeshift

Hey guys i have been able to install planeshift... except that i guess im doing wrong when i gotta pick some settings on the setup, the game is installed but seems to be blocked... owner is "root" i dunno really what to do when it asks me to setup permissions so i just leave it on default and go forward...
please help...

just in case give me all the steps i need from install to the end... thanks...

I've got the same problem going on and it's driving me nuts. I tried following the guide Rustybolts posted, but it didn't help. I can't run the program.
