upgrade crash

I ran the upgrade for I think it is 10.4 LTS on my dell lattitude d505 laptop. After upgrade, it rebooted and now i got nothing. I see the ubuntu spash when it tries to load graphics, then everything freezes. Not keyboard, cap locks light wont come on. What can I do, i get no prompts at boot to boot into previous kernels or recovery.
