Hello :) !!!
I am currently dual booting windows xp and ubuntu.
I want to upgrade to 10.04 lts but cannot as i have slow and bad connection to the internet. I do have the ubuntu 10.04 alternate iso, but am unable to burn it as have no burner...
So upgrading would mean having to do it 3 times which i am unable to do, but if i could downgrade to 8.04 i could then upgrade using the iso straight to 10.04 with no problems (correct me if im wrong)
I have also tried booting initrd and vmlinuz and installing that way and sucseeded but my wifi card did not seem to work and neither did other connections so i could not install desktop and other apps.
Solutions i have thought off:
1: Downgrade to 8.04 and use cdrom upgrade to 10.04
How can i downgrade ?
2: Install 10.04 by booting initrd and vmlinuz on xp partition, then have files needed for desktop on usb stick?
What files are needed to get full gnome desktop
How to install to usb stick (how big should stick be)
How to install to ubuntu after?
or
How to get wifi card to work and install gnome desktop that way?
Thanks Rhys
