how to load kickstart config file

I created an Ubuntu 10.4 iso with the kickstart cfg on it, trying to boot it with the ks=/cdrom/pathtoconfig (tried even ks=cdrom:/path) parameter in VirtualBox but it refuses to load the file and just launches the generic install. What am I doing wrong?

Maybe you are using the live CD instead of the alternative Installer.
