Hi.
I am using Ubuntu since 8.04 and I never had any issue like the one I am getting with Lucid Lynx.
Whenever I try to install Ubuntu 10.04, everything goes fine until the installer starts copying files to HDD. It gives the freaky "Input/Output Error" on 43% with the 64-bit version and on 51% with the 32-bit version.
I have tried everything I could think of. Downloaded the ISO 3 times, downloaded with torrent, tried installation on two different PCs with 4 different HDDs, tried installation from CD as well a USB drive.
Still the installer doesn't succeed in copying files to HDD. Both the above mentioned PCs were running 9.10 without any problem whatsoever.
I am badly stuck at this point.
What to do now.
Any hints are greatly appreciated.
Regards.
