I'm still in shock over kde in ubuntu 10.04, they actually made it look like it was part of ubuntu :D. My guess is some early testing with the btrfs (want some snapshots) and hopefully solve the mystery of the buttons on the left in Gnome

I would suggest you wait until after UDS-M is over on May 14th, you can check the blueprints here (https://blueprints.launchpad.net/sprints/uds-m).

I think we'll see the start of RGBA in applications, but only for a known-good set of apps.

We'll see proprietary software in the Software Center.

A version of Gnome 3.0 will be installable from the repositories and will work as a seperate session.

Windicators will make their debut.

It will be possible to install a "Google Chrome/Chromium notify-osd extension" so that your Chrome notifications use Notify-OSD; this paves the way for Chromium by default on Ubuntu 11.04.

Somebody at Gnome will get clever again and accidentally break Sony Walkman support again by treating it as an MTP device, forgetting that MTP in Gnome just doesn't work properly.

Software Center will gain a menu item that lets you add PPAs, automatically retrieving their GPG keys.

Ubuntu One will gain better syncing features, but still won't work properly for me.

I wonder if it will use Gnome 3, and if so will it be using Gnome shell, or the traditional WM.

I want more stuff working without any configuration.

Things like razor mouse, wacom tablets all plug and auto detect. If possible even install it for us everytime it detects a new device.

I own a wacom tablet and it is a pain to install it...i got it working but i don't know what exactly those commandline stuff does i simply copy and pasted.

Faster than 10.04 and heavily geared to social networking . I think it will have the new Gnome desktop and
look good .

gnome-shell will be in Universe and listed as a featured app in Software Center

Windicators will be default but fairly easy to uninstall. Function will only be basic and for default Ubuntu applications

Tighter Social networking integration.

Banshee as default media player.

Pure speculation :)

No Gnome Shell (http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2010/05/mark-shuttleworth-no-gnome-shell-in.html).

No Gnome Shell (http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2010/05/mark-shuttleworth-no-gnome-shell-in.html).
Does this mean no Gnome 3.0, or using Gnome 3.0 with the old WM and panels?

Kubuntu will include KDE 4.5 which will speed up login times and include features minimizing user "clicks", thus enhancing the user experience.

KDE netbook interface will also be improved.

I'd love to see power management take step up. Every version I either gain or lose battery life. 9.04 I was down about 2 hours. 9.10 I was back up 2hrs, now 10.04 I am back down about 1.5hrs. On an 8hr battery that isn't a big deal, but is kind of annoying.

I too have never been able to get Ubuntu One to work, so maybe they'll work on that.

I'd also like to see an optional or even default dock bar that has the gnome menus integrated.

More multi-pack wallpapers would be cool.

Gnome 3 != Gnome shell.

To be honest I have no idea what I really want to see from 10.10. Notification area clean up. Hearing things about a revamp of the netbook interface. Btrfs? Although the kind of people who would be interested in that can try it out just now. Banshee and Chromium as defaults. More progress with Ubuntu Software Center. First few ideas that come to my head. Theres nothing upstream that really excites me right now.

I think it'll come with a cup holder, stove, microwave, dishwasher, vacuum, basically everything you need to get your chores done! Now THAT'S innovative!

No, but really, faster boot, more fixed bugs, more features, .. I think that's all, I don't think they'll be making a new Gnome theme like Ambiance until the next LTS.
