New 10.04 Install and home partition

I presently run 9.04 with home on a separate partition on one hard drive.I want to do a new install of 10.04 to get rid of some old junk.
If I leave the partitions the same will my home partition retain all my stuff or do I have to save & reinstall?

10.04 should be able to use your home partition, if you specify it to be your home partition during the installation. To do that, click Manual/Advanced at the partitioning stage.

Also, if I remember right as it has been a while since I've last re-used a separate /home in a new install ...... remember to use the same username and password to minimize permission problems in the new install. Maybe 10.04 is different now ....
