As long as it's single digit!! =D
PS: that blinker in the top corner is just suppressed system information from the bios and the boot loader starting :D

Make this thread and reply to me did cost you about 356ms.. to recover again the lost time you had to boot (with the spare of 1ms @boot) about 356 time.

We should call Mark Shuttleworth to make the boot even more quick for you... or it would take a whole year (1boot per 1day) to recover the waste time :lolflag:

Nah, I am counting the time that did took your finger to press and release the powerbutton... if you're slow isn't the bios fault.

here some lesson to improve the time:

Damn how do you do that. Mine takes like 2 minutes. :(

I have a Phenom II as well, it just stays on the black screen with the flashing _ for ages.

I'm not running Ubuntu off an HDD but off an SSD :)
Makes alot of difference with 220 MBs read speeds :)

PS: Sounds like you got some detection problems going on if you ask me..

Holy crap! That's awesome. Hey guys, preload can speed up your boot, as well as opening your programs, and since it doesn't take too much RAM even on a system with 512 MB of RAM, it's totally worth it.

I suggest looking into it first, though, if you're curious. Don't just take my word for it. My computer boots in 12 seconds.

I'll look into it :) I doubt it will help my system though because SSD is so fast from before..

Actually in the POST I did notice something about USB being stuck for quite a while. But yeah it was stuck on the terminal screen for a while as well, so loads of things making it slow.

I need an SSD though. :P
