Hi everybody. I started to have this problem: every time I reboot my machine the icon positions are messed up - they are all aligned to vertically to the left.
How can I fix this?
Thank You.

This seems to be a known gnome bug according to this
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/401446
I am currently in the process of upgrading to 10.4; hopefully this will fix it as it is really annoying.

Upgrading to 10.4 did not solve the problem.
It seems that every-time I log off and on gnome, the icons are all aligned vertically to the left.

I have also noticed that refreshing the desktop (Control+R) also messes up the alignment of icons the same way.

I also just tried apt-get remove ubuntu-desktop and then sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop.
The problem still persists - any ideas?
