Hi folks

I want to make a clean install of Lucid(have Koala now). But I have 21GB of data in my home directory that i'll need on my new installation.I cant backup coz my backup HDD just got blasted. So what i want to do now is make a 30GB(total disk=160GB) partition and put all my data on it; then format the other partition and install Lucid on it.(i will hav to use the alternate cd because the live cd doesn't work).I would like to know how to get around dong this using the Gparted live disk; especially whether to keep the 30GB data partition to the right or the left of the primary partition(as of now my disk has only one partition).I am also totally ignorant about what partitioning option i will have to select in the alternate installer to install ubuntu on the 130GB partition.

Thanks
