After downloading and burning the 10.04 iso on to a USB mem stick and tried to install from that I have discovered that my computer does not have enough memory to run the GUI installation. My computer has 250MB of RAM which is enough to run Ubuntu but not the installation GUI as that requires 384MB.

Can someone please tell me how to install it from the command line interface (CLI) as I'm sure it will not need as much RAM.

Thank you in advance.

Download the Alternate CD, and that gives you a less RAM-intensive installation.
