testing Ubiquity

Is there a way to test Ubiquity (to see if formatting is correct, etc.) without installing anything?

You are going to have to install on something. USB external HDDs and external enclosures are fairly cheap if you are not looking for a big drive.

The enclosure route is better, I think, if you have an old drive that is just sitting around or if you want to be a little more flexible as far as the drive size goes in the fairly near future.

I suppose a USB stick would work too but I have never used one.
