I tried installing ubuntu lucid 10.04 from ubuntu site in VMWare 3.0. when i am done with all installs, the system boots up and asks for password for the selected user. i couldt type any password. The same VMWare player 3.0 can run karmic 9.0. This is easily simulatable 1. create a VM in VMWare 3.0 player and install lucid, you wont be able to login... I tried this with Dell and Lenova laptops as host machines...

I have the same problem.

Running OSX 10.6 with VMWare Fusion Version 3.0.2.

Edit:

Found a work around on the WMWare forums!
