I reinstalled 9.10 (64-bit) and the mouse was not operable. Keyboard is fine. It was installed in a known, working MB (MSI K8T Neo, old but serviceable). It had been working with either a PS/2 keyboard or a USB mouse and keyboard, (H/P new). It was only moved across the room and connected to a known, working mouse and keyboard, and monitor.
