I just upgraded to Lucid from Karmic yesterday. Like many other people, my boot times have gone up drastically.

As the system boots, I get a long list of errors similiar to "usb 2-3: device descriptor read/64 error -110". Also thrown in there are a few "unable to enumerate device" errors. This goes on for 3-4 minutes. After that, the system freezes until I press ctrl-alt-delete, at which time the boot process continues normally.

At boot time, the only USB devices I have plugged in are the keyboard and mouse.

I also note that I'm having trouble getting Firewire and USB external devices to mount; the devices aren't created when things are plugged in. No idea if it's related, but it's worth mentioning.

Any ideas?
