I dont even see the screen with the languages it just goes straight to the loading screen (nice btw) when i switch to the back up terms (ALT f4 - f8) it says i/o error from device sr0 and it also says Authentication failure and no user named ubuntu .

system specs:
hp dv5224nr laptop
amd turion 64 bit 2.00ghz cpu
1 gb of ram
128 mb ati radeon express 200m integrated
1 firewire port
3 usb 2.0 ports
hp mutlimedia keyboard(LAPTOP BTW)
one modem
one ethernet
one svideo out
one vga out
dvd/cd rw burner
1 cardbus slot
1 card express slot
15 '' lcd screen
os: currently dual booting winxp media center 2005 32-bit and ubuntu 9.10 32-bit

any help or reason why this isnt working cpu is 64bit iso is 64 bit?
i havent tried 32 bit yet.
i really wanna use the 64 bit os i have yet to use one ever :)

Did you check the CD by running md5sum? https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM

on the iso i have. burned to cd rw 2x on 2 different burners so it should be fine is it possible that my processor is 64bit but doesnt support 64bit oses? this is about a 5 year old laptop. it a hp dv 5224nr 9.10 32 bit is running fine but according to wikipedia, cpuz and amd i should be able to run a 64 bit os

If your processor wasn't 64-bit capable you'd see an error msg saying so. I still advise checking md5sum, since the problems you're describing suggest a bad burn.
