View Full Version : [xubuntu] Logging out and back in kills Compiz

OK, I've got a real head-scratcher here. I'm running PC/OS 10.1, which is based on Xubuntu, so hopefully any solutions offered here will work for me.

I've got Compiz and everything installed on here. However, if I've got Compiz activated when I log out, I find myself with no titlebar or frames whenever I log back in. Thankfully, this is easily corrected by opening the Fusion Icon and going back to Xfwm and then going back to Compiz, where I have the titlebar and frames and eye-popping effects and the whole nine yards. But it'd be a lot nicer to not have to deal with having to correct that every time I log in in the first place. Does anyone have any idea how to correct this?

Thanx in advance,
Fred in St. Louis

Never mind, I found the answer myself, in this thread:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1165146

Namely, what worked for me was setting the Compiz Fusion Icon to automatically start whenever I logged in. This way, the command to show the Compiz borders and titlebar are there. Works like a charm now! :-)

Thanx again, y'all!
