Just finished upgrading to Lucid. So far, so good.
However, the obnoxious shutdown beep seems to be back. In the past, I've been able to remove this by blacklisting the pcspkr module. It doesn't seem to be working anymore, although lsmod confirms that the module is not loaded.
Anybody know how to kill the beep now?

Huh...
I don't know what I did, but now it doesn't beep with or without the pcspkr module. I can live with that.
The weird thing is that I thought I had it fixed last night, and then it beeped at me when I shut down for the night. Having thought I had tried everything, I booted up this morning and posted here. After that, I shut down again, and it didn't beep. The only thing I had changed was fstab to fix a different issue.

Oh well. Sorry to bother everyone.
