I would prefer to give my money to the poor (those who truly need my money)
Canonical is a company that is backed by Mark Shuttleworth and he is a millionaire.
So there is no need cuz Mark is rich and he is doing just fine!!!:D
I think its more ethical to keep a person alive rather than an OS with your money.

Whats in your wallet? :P

That wouldn't be donating, it would be buying a subscription:

Verb
to donate (third-person singular simple present donates, present participle donating, simple past and past participle donated)
To make a donation; to give away something of value to support or contribute towards a cause or for the benefit of another.
She donates 100 dollars to Red Crescent every year.
He donated an etching from his own collection to the new art gallery.
You donate to ShipIt to make it possible for them to continue to ship free CDs to people all over the world, some of they may not be able to afford buying a CD, or have a broadband internet connection. They may just have a donated Red Cross computer with a very tired Windows XP on it.
