I found this thread by looking up ultramon replacement:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=284511

I would like to use "swapmonitor", to make it easy to move windows from monitor to monitor in a dual desktop environment.

However, I'm a noob and I have no idea how to install it.

I couldn't post a question on the actual thread, which seems silly to me as my question is specific to that thread, but it has been archived so I had to start a new one, so sorry about that,

PS. I tried extracting, and typing ./configure but it didn't work.

ah never mind i figured it out I had to type ./swapmonitor it doesn't require installation.

However, is there a standard location i should put this folder, like in "program files" (of course i realise there isn't a program files directory in linux, but thats where i'd stick a folder like this if it was a windows program)
