I had 9.10 x64 installed and use the update manager to upgrade to 10.04 x64, Now when I get past the kernel selection screen with the following kernels

2.6.32-21-generic
2.6.32-21-generic recovery
2.6.31-21-generic
2.6.31-21-generic recovery

(and the windows 7 loader + 2 memtest options)

I've used all for of the kernals to try to boot and the same issue every time, the screen stays BLANK and then i see garbled colors at the top 20% of the screen, kinda like a TV with no reception :( I'm using integrated nvidia chipset 8300

PLEASE HELP ME, i'm a noob that was using 9.10 fine and the 10.04 has rendered my system useless

**note I am also using the 10.04 LIVE "jumpdrive" to post this so 10.04 WILL atleast boot via live media which makes me think this is an issue with my GRUB 1.9

Any help is GREATLY appreciated in advance as welll as afterwards :)

I was about to give up on Ubuntu/Linux all together (for the 2nd time) but after I figured out how to change some file permissions to transfer my previous installation files to do a clean install,,,,,, I figured I'd give Ubuntu/Linux 1 last chance

And I'm VERY glad I did :) I LOVE Ubuntu 10.04

I was still very disappointed that a simple upgrade from the upgrade manager completely crashed my system though :(
