I just tried to install Ubuntu 10.04 on an extra hard drive. I could not get the LiveCD to boot because the screen would blank, and go to sleep right after the loading screen. I then tried the alternate install CD and installed (successfully?) and tried to boot. The screen went to sleep right after the loading screen passed. There is NO output to the screen at all. I have Windows 7 x64 on my RAID0 array (which i unplugged to install) and am trying to install on a clean 500GB.
I am running
Intel Q9500 2.66Ghz Quad
ATI Radeon HD 5770 in CrossfireX
2 320GB WD Caviar Blue Harddrives in RAID0
1 500GB WD Caviar Blue
Rosewill 1000W PSU
On Gigabyte Board. (can't remember model #)
Can anyone tell me what's going on or if they've experienced the same problem? I've looked all over and not found anyone with this problem.
