hello.
i installed lucid today and so far so good but i hate the splash screen. that has nothing to do with my post though so sorry.
anyway...
1. since installing lucid the "sound" icon that was in the notification area is gone and has been replaced by "usa" to link to the keyboard options. i tried to go to the sound options to put the icon back in the notification area. no luck.
2. my cdrom drives don't appear on the desktop or under "places" when i have media in the drives. only one of the cdrom drives shows up in "places" when there is no media in either drive. i can use k3b for example, or play a dvd. however the discs don't show up anywhere on the computer.
if i run lshw they are listed there so i'm not quite sure what's wrong.
