Need help installing Ubuntu 10.04

When I put the disk in to do the install, I get to the screen where I can install, Try it out, check for disk error, etc. No matter what I select here it just locks up on any of the options. I am using a Dell desktop. Any ideas on what is going wrong? Thanks
