Is there some way to get the npviewer.bin cpu usage down when watching youtube or hulu?.

On youtube with 480p, it uses up 30-40% cpu, on hulu with just standard definition (have not tested 480p there yet) it uses up 70% cpu.

My CPU is a Phenom II 940 clocked at 3.0Ghz.

I am running intergrated graphics, so that could have something to do with it. Not sure though.

Patience is key. Back in the day you could wait weeks for a reply on a message board. This thread is only hours old.

Forum search is also key.

Peace! :)

I don't really think there's anything you can do. Flash is very inefficient on Linux unless you have a Broadcom CrystalHD chip in your computer (Adobe's engineers would prefer to complain about Linux video decoding than actually use the standards we've set for it, grrr).

Somebody else might have a suggestion, though, so hang in there.

Bumping your own thread, removes you from the unanswered pile of threads. Then, you can almost guarantee nobody will read it.

It appears Adobe is in fact lazy and don't have a real port of flash to linux. Even my core i7 is using 40% for 360p hulu.
