I can not open programs from the terminal that opens in graphical windows. I've googled this and seen that a lot of people have this problem, but here's the strange thing. I've installed Ubuntu 10.4 both on my Acer Aspire One laptop and in VMware 7.0.1 on my other custom made computer and they both have the same problem.

Does anyone have any ide why? I was using the same ISO file btw.
