The question is: How best to get from 9.04 to 10.04 on my Dell Mini 9?

I hadn't upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 because I read that the WiFi card no longer worked with 9.10 on the DM9. What I see now indicates that to get from 9.04 to 10.04 I MUST go thru 9.10. If that is the case, I won't be able to download 10.04 because I won't have a WiFi connection.

Is that correct? What is a work-around? Thanks.

Not true on my end. I have a Dell Mini 9, and just upgraded two nights ago from 9.10 to 10.04. When upgrading from 9.10 to 10.04 it mentioned that the Bluetooth will be removed, but it didn't. I still have it.

Even when updating from 9.04 to 9.10 I didn't have any issues--not one.

Everything works fine on 10.04. In fact, I clocked the booth up time at 36 seconds. Another 5 seconds for my WiFi connection to my home network and loading Google Chrome.

Thanks bhadams1! With your assurance I braved it and in two steps I've upgraded to 10.04.

My earlier experience going from 7.10 to 8.04 with a Thinkpad made me reluctant to try. With that Thinkpad I had done that upgrade only to find that the Thinkpad's WiFi card didn't work with 8.04. I put the Thinkpad in the closet for 6 months and reinstalled Ubuntu after version 8.10 came out and all was well.

Hi Guys

This is reassuringm currently on 9.04 on my Mini 9 and am looking to get to 9.10 initially (but if 10.04 is running I may just go the whole hog and get to the latest LTS version).

Any thing particular to look out for?

Cheers
