View Full Version : Why don't we go back to oss?

Honestly, even with a ghetto hacked (freebsd) oss install where barley any of my sound card works, the difference is night and day. Started it off with a flac song I know intimately and I was shocked at how differed, and better, it sounded.

I fail to see the facepalm in this, or where you're contributing to this thread. Is my freebsd install bad? No. Is my hardware supported by oss? Not really but there are some very experimental patches for it. If all you want to do is throw some one word posts in threads, stay out of mine.

Even if OSS has better sound quality in some cases (which I seriously doubt, at least not on mine but then again I use optical out so it matters very little) do you remember why it was kicked out in the first place?

Let me remind you; because the devs did a nice 180 and decided to screw everyone in the tushy.
