notebook touchpad scrool bar not working

After upgrading from 9.10 to 10.04 my touchpad scroll bar not working any more
Im using hp pavilion dm1
I made several reboots

any idea?

i have the quite the same problem. i say "quite" because i would like to deactivate the scrolling touchpad because it goes crazy sometimes. (i don't know if ubuntu 10.04 is the problem or my scrolling touchpad).

I am having the same issue. Scroll bar does not work. In fact, my touchpad does not appear as a synaptics touchpad, which I think is the issue.

Looks like its being seen as a generic mouse... and that it SHOULD emulate the wheel (scroll). But I could be reading that wrong. If EmulateWheelButton does mean the scroll bar, then its not working, because there is no vertical scrolling.

I've been using linux for over ten years. This version of Ubuntu has the best hardware recognition I've seen on a stock kernel except for this one glitch.

I'd been impressed by BackTracks detection and even more impressed by your live usb. Almost everything works. WebCam, Verizon 3g card, wireless card all worked out of the box, with stock kernel. Very impressive. I've come across references to a kernel bug with this touchpad.

Any suggestions?
