View Full Version : [ubuntu] Minor volume issues when installing 10.04

As I've done for my last updates, I've made a fresh install of Ubuntu Lucid Lynx, and I've found some minor (so far) problems:

- Volume changes too fast when using multimedia buttons.
Does anyone has this same behaviour? I also noted it in Karmic, but used it only for a couple weeks.

- Brightness OSD doesn't work properly.
Brightness keys do work, it changes accordingly to keypreses, but if I lower brightness just after raising it, the onscreen displays shows a lowering brightness action, and viceversa.

- Although I have sound, I can't get it for the gstreamer (gstreamer-properties) test, when trying it I get this message: "halaudiosink element is missing"
I have sound and I'm happy :), but would like to know why gstreamer test is failing.

- (solved) When booting, after the GRUB menu, the screen goes blank and only a flashing cursor (_) is shown until the Ubuntu purple loading screen appears and then the GDM login screen. Does that black screen replaces usplash?

These other two are already fixed:
- (solved) Volume up button doesn't work work (System -> Preferences -> Key...)
- (solved) Icons in panels got messed (manually edited panels)

I like the new default appearance and I'm very happy because my Logitech webcam (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1463463) works again :D

Thanks in advance for all of your help.
