I have a Asus UL50 laptop. Using the 10.04 live-cd it takes 30 minutes to get to the welcome screen. Tried booting using a USB drive, same result.

Any ideas what is wrong?

After investigating this a little further I see that it is accessing my hard drive, my hard drive light is on the whole time. Why would my hard drive be accessed just to boot the live-cd?

I'm having a similar issue with one of my laptops (HP zv5000), took forever to boot the live CD, install has been running for over 2 hrs and is now at 94%. Crazy slow. I don't think this live CD is going to be very useful.

Please try the alternate cd.
