Lucid live cd boot process never completes on my HP TX2000.
- I downloaded the 64-bit lucid final desktop live iso and made a bootable USB from it.
- The HP TX2000 boots from the USB disk ok, the Try/Install dialogue shows up and I chose Try, the language was English so I left it.
- The screen flickered and some init/upstart type messags appeared and then the new "purple-haze" desktop image appeared.
- The startup sound played
Then the machine hung:
- No mouse cursor visible
- The disk light not flashing
- Fan running (as if processor busy)
- Ctrl-Alt-F1 didn't bring up a console
- I had to use Ctrl-Alt-SysRq-B to reboot
Is there some way to do the live boot process in verbose/interactive/command line mode?
I did d/l the alternative install CD, but I don't want to install/ upgrade my Karmic until I've seen the new nvidia drivers working on this machine.
I've attached the output from lshw.
Thanks
Mark
