Ubuntu 9.10 is six months old - try downloading Ubuntu 10.04 from the torrents linked to on www.ubuntu.com.

Assuming you are using Windows' built-in remote desktop thingy (called RDP), you would use Ubuntu's Terminal Server Client program. If you have instead set up VNC on your Windows machine, which I'd recommend, you would use Remote Desktop Viewer.

Both those programs are preinstalled on Ubuntu.

That's only for VNC or SSH, not RDP

Have you seen all the Lucid error threads? You must have missed them.

Yeah. Don't ever upgrade within a few months of an Ubuntu release. What are you, crazy? You might as well be a beta tester. http://www.endolith.com/wordpress/2009/06/24/ubuntu-isnt-getting-any-better/

Terminal Server Client supposedly supports RDP, but it doesn't work. I go into Windows and it works flawlessly, connecting to the other computer, but TSClient fails with "cannot connect" or some stupid thing. More quality Linux software.
