I cant upgrade from 9.10 to 10.04...........

going with the alternate CD is does this:

same it does with update-manager -c

same error! it wont go it wont upgrade..

I was browsing some websites, it told to do this:

sudo sed -i 's/karmic/lucid/g' /etc/apt/sources.list && sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude dist-upgrade

it is downloading 983 MBs now through terminal, it gave me a solution downgrade some, remove some, update some and fetch new packages.

does this command get the job done to 10.04 or I will be wasting time downloading new 983 MBs?

This should make the job.
Good luck, it might take quite a long time since servers are now quite busy!

Cheers
