Can AWN actually simply Auto-hide?

Can AWN actually simply Auto-hide when not in use, like a normal panel? (and I don't mean intellihide)

I am building an Ubuntu for a brother I am trying to convert to linux and it is his request, a deal breaker, so to speak.

Or can anyone recommend another dock (I have tried cairo - too blocky and complicated, and Docky - too simple and not enough options)?

try the latest version of Cairo-Dock, it works great and has a simple config panel !

Thanks, and as we speak I am rethinking Docky with Gnome-do which I had never known what it was. It looks very intriguing. Now I know why Docky was so simple ... because gnome-do finds everything ... cool.
