Almost want to kill myself! fail on install 10.04

My notebook is HP DV4 1435dx
BIOS update to F65A

I changed the hard drive from 320GB SATA I to 500GB SATA II
I have win 7 installed plus recovery partition on the same drive

I choose "install side by side option"
then after install complete and reboot
the grub menu appear and choose ubuntu
then it stay for the dark screen for about 40 seconds
and it just give a error message
saying something like:
Gave up .....................
root error : wait for a long time

missing module.................

"Box ..." type help for more option

it just give a message like that

ALSO, for some reason, the installation program changed my BIOS time!!

also fail on install 9.10, 9.04
both stay on the dark screen for long time than boot into the genome

HOPE someone can help

before I changed my Hard drive and update the BIOS
I can sucessfully use WUBI on Vista to use 9.04

You do get grub menu. Does windows boot ok?

From the menu can use choose the recovery mode and boot?

Does 10.04 work with Wubi?

Sorry. I am a noob

it can boot back to win7

and today
it can boot to the genome
but
it stay in the dark screen for 3 mins

and give out some message like
ata01. error
{dry}

and it just boot to genome

I am think if there are I/O error causing this problem

because on 9.10 and 9.04 has the same problem
I am not sure it is because of the hardware problem or ubuntu has bad support on hitachi 2.5' 7k500 500GB hard drive

it was fine b4 I update the laptop hard disk and i can install wubi with 9.04 on Vista

after I update to win 7 and change the hard drive
I cannot use the wubi to install 9.10
nor dual boot
just simply meet ata01 error

btw, the new 500GB hard drive work perfect on win7, no any wrong message, and DiskInfo show no error , and no bad sector, very quick and quiet:P
